Let private lawyers buy copies of the 2011 Benchbook from the SC

Note:

We hope the SC will allow private lawyers to acquire copies of the 2011 Benchbook. It is useful for legal research and case management. In that way, the Bench and the Bar would have a common Trial Management Reference.

WHAT : Increasing Judicial Efficiency: Seminar-Workshop for Judges on the Effective Use of the Benchbook for RP Trial Courts for NCJR
WHEN : September 20, 2011, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Batch 1); September 21, 2011, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Batch 2)
WHERE : Traders Hotel, Pasay City
The Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA) in partnership with the United States Agency for International Agency (USAID), through the American Bar Association-Rule of Law Initiative (ABA-ROLI) Philippines, will conduct a series of seminar-workshops on “Increasing Judicial Efficiency: Seminar-Workshop for Judges on the Effective Use of the Benchbook for Philippine Trial Courts (Revised and Expanded) on September 20-21, 2011 at Traders Hotel, Pasay City.
The speakers include Court of Appeals Justice Magdangal M. De Leon, Deputy Court Administrator Nimfa Cuesta Vilchez, and Professor Alfredo F. Tadiar. Case studies will be presented by (ret.) Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Edilberto G. Sandoval, Dean Eduardo D. De Los Angeles, and Attys. Victor P. Lazatin and Rita Linda V. Jimeno.
PHILJA Chancellor and (ret.) SC Justice Adolfo S. Azcuna leads the panelists during the open forum. He is joined by CA Justices De Leon and Hilarion L. Aquino, Sandiganbayan Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez, DCA Vilches, and Professor Tadiar.
Chancellor Azcuna will give the opening remarks and Court Administrator Marquez the closing remarks.
The seminar-workshop aims to teach the participant judges, with the use of the Benchbook, to resolve issues and render decisions more speedily, expeditiously, and consistently, thus promoting greater understanding by the general public of how the system of justice is administered, and thereby fostering more respect for the court.
