A report on the LAS PINAS CITY BAR ASSOCIATION (LPBA), INC.


Las Pinas City Bar Association (LPBA), Inc. held its election of officers today (3/23/11) at 9pm at Max's Rest., Las Pinas City, after a lecture on extrajudicial foreclosure by Atty. Paul Yusi at 7pm.

The new chairperson is Atty. Hilda Clave. The new president is Atty. Jose Caringal. They will serve for 1 year.

The new 5 directors (1/3 of the board to serve for 3 yrs) are lawyers Pablo Domingo, Morgan Nicanor, Marcial Bernales, Paul Yusi, and Edgar Layno.

The oath-taking of the directors and officers before the Chief Justice and the courtesy calls to the Executive Judge, the Mayor, and the Congressman of the city will be scheduled by the new board in its meeting on Wed. next week at 6pm at Magic Wand Rest., BF Resort Village, Las Pinas City.

We congratulate the outgoing chairperson Atty. Purita Fajilan and the outgoing president Atty. Rolito Abing for their past performance.

The association has a membership of 120 lawyers. Law practitioners who live or practise law in the city are encouraged to join it.

The LPBA is an accredited MCLE service provider.

It was founded on March 21, 2001 by Atty. Manuel Laserna Jr. and Atty. Myrna Mercader of the Laserna Cueva-Mercader Law Offices while serving as officers of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) - Pasay Paranaque Las Pinas Muntinlupa (PPLM) Chapter.

The Judgment Day Project of the Chief Justice was held in the city early this year with the full participation of the association.

It conducts annual Bench and Bar Dialogues and Barangay Law Lectures in cooperation with the Executive Judge, the Mayor and the Congressman.

It has a Committee on Free Legal Aid in cooperation with the IBP chapter.

It conducts monthly law lectures for its members.
