MANILA -- New judges have been assigned by President Benigno Aquino III to Cebu, Catanduanes, Benguet, Baguio, La Union and Ilocos Sur.
They are Judges Glenda Ching Co (Talisay City Regional Trial Court branch 65), Maria Ligaya Itliong-Rivera (Baguio City RTC branch 5), Ivan Kim Morales (Baguio City RTC branch 59) and Caroline Rojas Jaucian (San Fernando, La Union branch 26).
Assigned at the municipal trial courts, meanwhile, are Judges Francisco Torres (1st MCTC of San Miguel, Catanduanes), Bernadette Balangitan Badecao (MTC Sto. Tomas, La Union; Melita Amylesha Delson-Macaraeg (MCTC, Kapangan-Kibungan, Benguet), Judge Homer Jay Ragonjan (MTC, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur) and Judge Jaime Bugain (6th MCTC, Santiago-San Esteban, Ilocos Sur).
The new judges went through a screening by the multi-sectoral Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) headed by Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Aquino then chose appointees from the selection list forwarded by the JBC. (Sunnex).
