The Bar Flunker And The Fixer

Amboy belongs to the top ten percent of his law class. He is a “bar flunker”.

His girlfriend passes the bar exams.

And his mental anguish begins.

Paralyzed by self-pity and silent anger, Amboy illegally works as an unauthorized notary public at the back of the city hall.

He has to survive even as he drowns in silent pain.

Berns is a city hall fixer.

And their fates meet.

A combination of clean comedy and light drama, the movie “Of All The Things” (by Viva Films and starring Aga Mulach and Regine Velasquez) revolves around the abovementioned theme.

It portrays a sweet contrast of the two personalities: Amboy as the silent, serious, deep and pained bar flunker; and Berns as the vocal, funny, sociable, and pragmatic problem solver.

In the end, Amboy retakes the bar exams, passes it, takes his oath, and evolves into a competent and popular Atty. Emiliano G. Arellano.

Nice, relaxing and inspiring film.

We recommend it.
